Gary is 29 - or maybe a little older

We had a nice morning with the B in Bed - a yummy cinammon roll heated by Tyler with drizzled syrup - wow was it good looking...and tasting according to Dad. We sang, ever so sweetly, Happy Birthday to him. He was looking forward to lunch with the boys and a great workout...

Happy BD Gary!!!

Back in June...

Happy Birthday to Kaylee - on June 4 she turned 6 years old. You guessed it - breakfast in bed! We also had our traditional scavenger hunt - which is a favorite among all the kids.

Kaylee is a joyful child that has enjoyed the summer with lots of swimming and playing - a few trips to the library and of course since Ryan and Susan have moved back to California - playing with her beloved niece Sarah May!

She wanted chocolate strawberry pie, instead of cake for her birthday. That was OK with the rest of us!! (You'll notice a banana cream pie, just in case)

Travis is now the ripe old age of 11 and as you can see was not slighted in receiving his morning cuisine in the luxury of his bed. His birthday is July 11 and follows Tyler in the celebration each year. Travis has had a fun summer and enjoys playing basketball and video games. He wants to take Algebra 1 this year for math as a 6th grader- we'll see how he does.

Here is the brownie and the candle for the teenager.
Wow look at that muscle, Gary

Lindsay Goes to College

Lindsay is heading off to cosmetology school next week. She is very excited and so are we. We are anxious to have our own beautician in the family. Now all we need is a chiropractor and dentist! We are going to miss our red head and all her enthusiasm and energy. Love you, Lins.

Kaylee's First Soccer Game

Kaylee enjoyed her first soccer game on Saturday - scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. She isn't themost aggressive one on the field, but has a good idea about where to be on the field. She is fun to watch and was most excited, as I said before, about the pink uniforms. Go Kaylee!

No more braces for Todd!

Here is the photo of the new man on campus - Todd and his beautiful smile. He is enjoying the brutal rigors of football practice and his new class schedule which includes 2 honors classes - chemistry and Algebra 2. He is a good young man that sets an example for his friends and associates. Keep smiling Todd!

Some of My Grandkids on the 4th July

New Adventure as a blogger

Hi! I am excited to have this set up so I can journal in a fun way and try to capture the amazing joy I find each day of my life with my wonderful husband, children, grandchildren and daughters-in-law and son-in-law (singular so far). I have been inspired by Susan and Sarah - so here goes. I hope I can figure this out.

Today was Erynne's 17th birthday. We started out with the traditional "breakfast in bed". She was congenial and allowed us to sing - then quickly ate and went back to sleep. She slept until 9:15 am when I asked her to drive Todd to the ortho to have his braces removed (picture forthcoming). She kindly drove him and sat and waited (on her birthday!) for an hour and a half. When she got home, we left to go to lunch with Betty Ann and Malia. It was fun - we went to Erynne's favorite restuarant - Olive Garden. We enjoyed a nice lunch of Salad, soup and breadsticks. Then sat a talked for quite a while, until a slice of white chocolate cheesecake was delivered and we sang "Happy Birthday".

Following lunch, Erynne and I went to the mall, where she found some jeans at A&F ( I don't like that store - it has bad pictures all over), then we went to Nordstroms and found some cute shirts on sale. We came home and I told Erynne she had to get rid of 5 things because she bought 5 new things....

Todd was excited to get his braces off - he can eat chips and the Dr. even gave him a Snickers bar - something was a no no for braces. He looks nice and feels comfortable in his new mouth.

Tyler went to the temple tonight with our youth to do baptisms - he took 23 family names with him. I reminded him to be careful with those papers - the represent real people who are anxiously waiting for their temple work to be done. I am going to work on my family history again tonight - something I haven't done for about a week - I really miss it and all those people waiting are nagging me to get back at it!

I tried to click the link to post a picture or two but it doesn't seem to be working - I will try again
